Background:
I was born in Jackson, MN which is a small, farming community in southwestern Minnesota. I graduated from Jackson High School and then attended Bemidji State University for my degree in elementary education. I worked in District 2142 (a school district in Northern Minnesota near Cloquet) for 3 years as a Title I teacher before moving to Wisconsin. While living in Antigo, WI, I did some substitute teaching and then ran a small daycare so that I could stay home with my own children. Once we moved to southern Wisconsin, I was a substitute teacher for a year and then was hired at Highland as a special education teacher. At that time, I went back to college at UW Platteville to complete my special education licensure and my master’s degree in middle level education. I have been working in Highland, WI since 2002.
I live in Livingston, WI with my husband. I enjoy reading, camping, scrapbooking, and biking. My husband and I are enjoying our "empty nest" as both our children are currently attending college.
